It has been a crazy few weeks leading up to this holiday but here we are and the excitement the kids displayed did not disappoint! I will be putting up pictures in the coming weeks but just wanted to say a quick "Merry Christmas" to all my friends, blogging friends, and family who read this. Hope you all had a great time celebrating the most important birthday of all
I also wanted to just give a few words of encouragement to those who are in this crazy world of adoption and are still waiting for their children to come home. Last year, we, too were in the stage of feeling like there was something missing as we celebrated the holidays, a space in our family that still needed to be filled. That longing that I felt at the time after the years of waiting is nothing compared to those waiting families who do not yet have any children at home and spent this Christmas again without their children. But I just wanted to say that it will happen for you. I know that at times, it feels like it never will but there will be a Christmas morning for you where you hear the squeals of little voices and see the excitement and joy on their faces.
Watching Elijah and Sedaya get to experience the magic of Christmas for the first time was the highlight for us this year and when I think back to last year, the adoption was at the forefront of my mind and most of what I thought about and now, the kids are here and our family feels complete. Seven stockings were filled and it never felt like there was one missing. For the first time in years, I could sit back and enjoy our family and know that all my kids are home. Home, they are home.
Merry Christmas, Sharla, Mark, and family! I heard on the news that the Imagine Adoption Agency was back in business after some volunteer reorganization. So hopefully, families that may have lost hope are going to meet their children sooner rather than later. Was that the one you were involved with?

Thanks for your comments Sharla - I, too, hope that CHristmas 2010 is a time for celebrating the completion of our family. I loved reading about Elijah and Sedaya and Christmas - thanks for posting!
Merry Christmas to you all and blessings in 2010.

I can't wait to hear about your adventures in 2010!
Thanks for the reminder that it is happening... Our kids are coming home.
